Royal Marines Squad Photos
On the 7th March 1918 the Kings Badge and Kings Squad was instituted by King George V.
Until we serve in a 'Kings Squad' and receive our Green Beret we are not classed as Royal Marines
Our
Kings Squad photo is the most important piece of information to record all
who eventually became Marines. It also picks up on those who were back squadded
The Deal photo will show all who joined up
The Royal Marines Historical Society have published a book on the subject.
'100 Years of the Kings Badge' Sheet Anchor volume XL11 No.2
1918 is an experiment?

2019 |
The change over from Squads to Troops was during March 1971.
John Bates remembers he was a member of the 938 Squad for a week before it changed to 1 Troop
I would like to thank all those who have assisted me during the past few years,
I have enjoyed the Journey Royal.
